AMHOCN Webinar - Implementation of routine outcomes assessment by private hospitals with psychiatric services

This webinar will be presented by Mr Allen Morris-Yates, Director of the Australian Private Hospitals Association’s Private Psychiatric Hospitals Data Reporting and Analysis Service (PPHDRAS). The webinar will focus on the outcomes of care provided by the private psychiatric hospitals. Issues to be covered include: Who receives what services from private hospitals with psychiatric beds and what are the outcomes of that care? How do private hospitals collect data on service utilisation and clinical outcomes? What use do they make of that data? What are the challenges they face in doing that and how are those challenges being addressed?

Allen has been involved in the development of outcome–oriented information systems for mental health services in both the public and private sectors for over thirty years. His work both now and in the past has included detailed analyses of large longitudinal data sets; the development and maintenance of database applications used in the collection, analysis and reporting of detailed administrative and clinical data on specialist psychiatric care; and the development of frameworks for the reporting and analysis of such data.
